Trelew 16 July 1897
To Your Lordship
The Governor of Chubut
Eugenio Tello Esq

Most Distinguished Sir

The steamer "Ushuaia" arrived today and leaves tomorrow with little cargo and few passengers.
The train will leave Trelew at 8.30 a.m.
The timber beams are destined for Rawson, where I can arrange road transport. At this time I have not arranged a hire.
I have the honour you greet Your Lordship with all respect.

DES Note V.S. = Vuestra SeñorYa. It should not be taken that this form of address implies that he was a member of the nobility. It is merely the flowery language used. The nobility in Argentina was abolished at independence.
The steamer 'Ushuaia' was the government transport which operated between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia in this period. Its prime function seemed to be the maintenance of supplies to the various military and naval establishments along these shores.
The Order number on this and the other papers appears to be a modern addition as it is in the same hand throughout.

B Telegram re medicines from the cruiser 'Garibaldi'
This one is not directly to do with the railway. However the railway provided a telegraph service, to which the government had free access. Hence the final message reaching the Governor was on a railway form. Note the miss-spelling of the railway's name in the title. A scan of the original form is on the right >>>
